Polly Hember is a PhD student at Royal Holloway, University of London. Focusing on modernism and networks of intimacy, her research explores the POOL group. Her broad research interests are in modernity, twentieth-century literature, mass culture, early cinema, technology, feminism, queer theory, affect and ecocriticism. She sits on the executive of BAMS, co-edits the Modernist ReviewShe is also part of the Decorating Dissidence committee and is co-organising the Figuring out Feeling international conference.

Aoiffe Walsh is a second year PhD student at Royal Holloway, University of London. Her research focuses on Surrealism in interwar Britain. Specifically looking at the Cambridge University Experiment group, she is interested in what this strand of Surrealism can reveal about the intellectual and artistic attitudes during the time and place of its development. Her broader research interests include empiricist philosophy, literary theory and intellectual and art history. You can read her work in the Modernist Review, and she is working on articles for publication on Materialist Romanticism in British modernism.
