Reading Group #3 - Imagination
Thu, 18 Jul
|Room TBC
Join us for our third reading group to discuss the linkages between modernist culture and the romantic imagination.
Time & Location
18 Jul 2019, 16:00 – 18:00
Room TBC, 11 Bedford Square, Bloomsbury, London WC1B 3RE
About the event
This month we will be considering the metaphysical complexities of imagination as understood by the Romantics. We will examine two short but significant quotes from Coleridge and Blake, set against the work of surrealist artist Dorothea Tanning.
We will then be able to identify and apply the tension or consensus that might arises from these two Romantic definitions of the imaginative faculty to modernist works within our own studies.
Please sign up to the session here on our website or by emailing neorommod@gmail.com, and we'll circulate the reading and artwork to you via email.
We look forward to seeing you there.
